Aldi Announces Grand Opening in Neighboring City
The discount grocer is going in at the former Borders location in Woodbury.
Aldi officials on Friday announced that the opening of a new grocery store in Woodbury is set for Oct. 5.
“As Aldi continues to grow in the Twin Cities, we are pleased to open this new Woodbury location to help more customers stretch their dollars even further,” Matt Lilla, Faribault division vice president for Aldi, said in a statement. “As important as price is, there’s only one way to attract and keep shoppers: You have to have quality products. When people try our Aldi exclusive brands, they are surprised by the savings and impressed by the quality.”
The current closest Aldi locations near Oakdale are in St. Paul, Mahtomedi and Oak Park Heights.
The public is invited to attend, and people will be able to sample Aldi-exclusive brand products, tour the store and shop for groceries. Also, guests will be able to enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to win one of two patio heaters and other prizes, according to a release.
Aldi says its exclusive brands “meet or exceed the national brands on taste and quality,” and has a “Double Guarantee,” under which it will replace the item and refund the customer’s money for those not satisfied.
The new location will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Aldi accepts cash, debit and EBT cards.
The Woodbury store also showcases the “new look” of Aldi—higher ceilings and environmentally friendly building materials, according to the release.
It’s located at 8472 Tamarack Bay in Woodbury.
