Louis Verdere White IV of Woodbury was arrested outside of Demori's Italian Foods & Lounge in Oakdale.
A Woodbury man has been charged with first degree property damage after he was found damaging a vehicle outside of Demori's Italian Foods & Lounge.
Louis Verdere White IV, 27, was charged in Washington County District Court last week.
According to the criminal complaint:
Police were dispatched to Demori's around 11:45 p.m. on June 20 regarding a report of a man damaging cars in the parking lot. When police arrived they found White standing next to a black Chevrolet Cavalier.
White approached officers yelling, "Shoot me, shoot me, shoot me!" Officers believed White was intoxicated. Police continually asked White why he was upset, but White continued to walk toward the officers yelling "Shoot me!"
White did not obey officers' commands to stop walking toward the officers. Police apprehended White and took him into custody.
The vehicle that White was standing next to had a broken side mirror, dents and a broken handle. The woman who owned the vehicle said she did not know White and did not know why he would damage the car.
Several witnesses at the restaurant said they saw White damaging the vehicle while yelling, "Let me in." Witnesses said they saw White trying to break the window and the windshield wipers while screaming profanities in the parking lot.
The cost to repair the vehicle is $1,262.
If White is found guilty he could face up to fie years in prison and pay up to $10,000 in fines.
