Fire Damages Million Dollar Homes in Mahtomedi
The Oakdale Fire Department was one of several fire departments that responded to the fire.
Area firefighters were kept busy putting out a fire that destroyed a million-dollar home in Mahtomedi and damaged two other nearby homes early Friday morning.
Signs indicate the fire started on the deck of a home on the 200 block of Park Avenue and spread to nearby homes due to heavy winds, according to a report by Kare 11.
The fire destroyed the home and caused significant damage to a second million-dollar home and minor damage to a third home, Kare 11 reports.
No one was home at the first house that caught fire and neighbors made it out safely from the other two homes, according to CBS Minnesota.
More than 100 firefighters in the area responded to the fire, including Oakdale's fire department.

There have been a number of fires recently in the East Metro. Even though our fire departments are one of the best in the Twin Cities Metro, Fire Prevention is our best course of action to help our communities fight fires.
