Kid-Friendly Concert Tonight, 'Curling is Cool Day'

Five things you should know today, Thursday, Feb. 23

1. There’s a 20 percent chance of snow today, and the weather will be cloudy with a high near 34, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

2. Kid-friendly rock ‘n’ roll band The Bazillions will play a free concert at 7 p.m. tonight at Woodbury’s Central Park.

3. The Washington County Board heard the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s plan this week to add MnPASS lanes on Interstate 35E between County Road 96 and Little Canada Road.

4. The raising of the flag on Iwo Jima, a scene that became iconic, took place on this day in 1945. The photo of six men raising the flag was widely distributed, and is depicted in the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial near Arlington National Cemetery.

5. It’s Curling is Cool Day today. St. Paul is home to the largest curling club in the country with more than 1,200 members, according to the club website.
