A masked gunman and cohort attempted to rob Smokedale on Tuesday.

The Oakdale Police Department received a call about two men wearing masks who entered Smokedale and demanded money, according to the initial complaint. 

When the store owner told the men to leave the gunman pulled out a .22 caliber handgun and racked the slide, the complaint states. 

No money or merchandise was taken from the store. Police located the two men just north of the Holiday gas station. Police also recovered the handgun. 

Police also found five grams of marijuana on one of the suspects. The men were booked in Washington County Jail.
