Who deserves to be recognized as Oakdale Patch's person of the year?

If you know someone who made Oakdale a better place over the last year, contributed time and effort to various causes or even made a smaller impact that's still important, nominate him or her.

Email me by 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 and answer the following questions in your email:

  1. Nominee's Name
  2. Why should he or she be person of the year?
  3. What affiliations does this person have (groups, boards, businesses, etc.)?
  4. Please provide your name and contact information in case we have any questions. Your personal information will not be published.

We will take the nominees and ask readers to vote on who they think should win. After a Person of the Year is selected, I will run a story about the winner.

You may nominate yourself, someone you've worked with or even someone you've just read about that might deserve this recognition. Any questions? Email me at hannah.gruber@patch.com

You guys should interview the citizens of Oakdale to ask them how they feel about the Police Chief costing the city over a hundred thousand dollars in the lawsuit that one of his own police officers won against him!!! Something is cery wrong when a Chief LOSES a lawsuit to one of his own officers! Maybe just maybe it is time for the Chief, Mayor, and City Council to step down and be replaced by people who give a damn about this city and not themselves!

I'd like to nominate John over at Gator's Liquor. He sells me products that that keep me at home and out of trouble. Therefore, he's a peacekeeper.

You're out of control "JT." You can't even use your real name?!

I nominate "JT" for giving me business all these years!

Seriously I'd like to nominate any police officer or firefighter in the City of Oakdale!
