Oakdale Police Blotter: 10th Street Businesses Burglarized

In other reports, numerous residents say their mailboxes had been opened.

Two 10th Street businesses were burglarized Sunday, Nov. 27, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

Police responded to Inland Commercial Properties after a back room motion alarm was set off, the report says. The place was secure, however, police found that the rear door to an adjacent address that the business owner was using for storage was ajar, the complaint says. The front door to the storage space had been pried open, and while inside the suspects broke through the sheet rock to steal a laptop computer from the business, the report says.

They also broke through a wall into and stole cash, according to the report.

The following incidents were also reported to Oakdale police Nov. 27 and 28:

  • Just after midnight, someone shot a residence in the 6500 block of 30th Street Court with at least 10 red paintballs. One cracked a hole in the home’s vinyl siding. The property damage estimate is $100.
  • Electronics worth $4,170 were stolen from a home in the 7500 block of 15th Street Lane while the complainant was asleep between midnight and 3:30 a.m. Two friends, three female acquaintances and an unknown man had been at the home earlier, but had left before the items were stolen. There was no sign of forced entry.

Nov. 28:

  • Between 1 p.m. Nov. 27 and  7:30 a.m. the next day, someone cut a steel cable securing a siding break and took the tool from the 700 block of Guthrie Avenue.
  • A resident in the 2700 block of Helena Avenue reported that on Wednesday, Nov. 23, several mailboxes in the area had their doors open and mail was strewn around.
  • An Oakdale resident reported that on Nov. 22, someone made a fraudulent purchase on her debit card for $39.
  • A resident in the 4800 block of Helmo Avenue reported finding large amounts of mail belonging to neighbors in the area scattered throughout the streets.
  • A resident in the 5000 block of Grafton Avenue reported that someone opened her mailbox and several mailboxes on her street between 8 p.m. Nov. 27 and 7 a.m. the next day. She thought her mail might have been stolen.
  • A resident in the 7500 block of 46th Street Way N. reported finding a large amount of mail in her yard. Her mailbox was open, but it didn’t appear that anything was taken.
  • A resident in the 4600 block of Helmo Avenue reported that someone opened his mailbox and several others on his street between 8 p.m. Nov. 27 and 7 a.m. the next day. He thought his mail might have been stolen.
