Tartan Boys Take Second in Conference JV Track Meet

Titans won titles in high jump, 800 meters, 3,200 meters and 4x800 relay in the conference meet.

Alex Johnson won the boys 3,200-meter run in 11:06.97 and placed second in the 1,600 in 5:06.13 to highlight Tartan's efforts in the 2011 Classic Suburban Conference boys junior varsity meet Thursday at Richfield.

North St. Paul won the meet with 267 points. Tartan was second with 170.5, followed by Henry Sibley (87), South St. Paul (82), St. Thomas Academy (73.5), Richfield (53.5), Hill-Murray (35.5), Mahtomedi (25) and Simley (6).

Tartan's 4x800-meter relay team was first in 9:17.62 and the 4x400 team second in 3:48.52. Doug Bosse of the Titans won the 800 in 2:15.55. Cody Nelson and Armani Winfield were second and third in the 100-meter dash. Nelson was second in the 400-meter dash (52.74).

Winfield was first in the high jump at 5-8 and teammate Julius Simmons second, also at 5-8. Marty Frascone was second in the pole vault at 8-6 and Reilly Page third in the long jump at 17-4.
