Tartan's Ohara Brings Home School's First State Wrestling Title

O'Hara won the 152-pound title in Class 3A.

 

Tartan High School sophomore TJ Ohara made history Saturday night by bringing home the school’s first state wrestling title, according to the Pioneer Press.

He beat out Rosemount’s Adam Jackson for the 152-pound title at the Xcel Energy Center, according to the report.

"I'm speechless," Ohara told the Pioneer Press. "This is the greatest day of my life."

Ohara beat Jackson 6-1 for the title in Class 3A, according to the tournament results.

Tartan sophomore wrestlers Elijah McGeehan and Jason Telin also competed at state.

Great wrestling, TJ! Couldn't get downtown, but caught you on the live video feed. (Alex couldn't get the feed to work, so I Skyped him in Duluth and turned on screen sharing so he could see the championship. He says: "What a man!") Congratulations.
