VIDEO: What Bus Rapid Transit Looks Like

The commission studying transit on the I-94 corridor between St. Paul and Wisconsin has ranked bus rapid transit at the top of its options.

Bus rapid transit currently ranks at the top of the mass transportation options being considered by the Gateway Corridor Commission

The Gateway Corridor Commission posted this video on its Facebook Page to show how bus rapid transit (BRT) functions. The video gives an idea of what Alternative 3, BRT on a dedicated lane, would look like. The other highly ranked option, Alternative 8, would look a little different because it wouldn't have its own lane. Rather, the buses would run on a MnPASS-like lane that would include cars.

The video contains both computer generated images and actual video of the BRT system in Eugene, OR.
