The Oakdale branch of the Washington County Library offers access to the more than 500,000 items the Washington County Library system has available for checkout. In addition to the typical library offerings — books, CDs and DVDs — patrons can borrow an energy meter that allows them to see how much power is used by various electronics in their homes. Another bonus for patrons is that the library doesn't charge daily fines for overdue items. Don't keep those items too long, though. If you're three weeks late in returning your book (or two weeks late in returning your DVD) you'll be charged the replacement cost for the item plus an $8 processing fee.
