Deer Harvest

Lake Elmo Park Reserve will be closed Nov. 9-10 and Nov. 16-17 for a controlled deer-management harvest.

Only participants who have secured a special lottery permit from the DNR will be allowed into the park for the deer harvest.

“The large concentration of deer has caused much browsing destruction to the trees and shrubs in the park and poses a traffic hazard as deer cross the highways,” reads part of a release from Washington County.

All other parks in Washington County will be open. Call 651-430-8370 for more information.

Ski Swap

Afton Alps on Wednesday announced its fall fair ski and snowboard swap, set for Oct. 11-13.

There will be free chairlift rides and hayrides Saturday and Sunday.
