The excessive heat warning began noon Sunday, Aug. 25 and continues through Tuesday, Aug 27.

State Fair

The State Fair is well underway, and Sen. Chuck Wiger, who represents parts of Oakdale, chimed in with this post:

Other states across the country have state fairs, but Minnesota’s Annual Get Together is unique. It is a one of a kind experience. If you have never been to the Fair, I recommend going. And if you have gone every single year of your life, I know there will be something new for you to see this year.

Dog Days

A "Dog Ownership Day" will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 7 at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo.

There is parking and free admission. People will be able to learn about training, get grooming tips, become acquainted with breeds, and have questions answered. Dog owners will also get a chance to participate in therapy dog testing and low-cost microchipping.
