Here are five items to take note of today in Oakdale.
Ice Cream Social
Next month—at the authentic, fully restored one-room schoolhouse near the Oakdale Discovery Center—there will be an ice cream social hosted by the local historical society.
Set for 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, historical society officials will be serving ice cream sundaes and root beer floats (suggested donation $2), answering questions about Oakdale’s history, and possibly giving away a few door prizes.
Caribou Coffee is getting close to opening its third shop in Oakdale.
Construction is nearing completion at the site, at Highway 36 and Century Avenue, and Caribou Coffee officials told Patch the opening is coming soon.
