Here are five items to take note of today in Oakdale.

MMA Fighter

Kyle Todd, an up and coming mixed-martial arts fighter who trains at Oakdale’s Spartan Martial Arts, has a big bout this weekend.

The 175-pounder is taking on Gary Granholm on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Myth nightclub in Maplewood in a five-round bout for a local amateur title.

People can get tickets on the Myth’s website.

Furlong's Liquor

During August, the photography of David A. Parker will be on display at the Oakdale Discovery Center.

Each month, the work of a featured local artist or artisan is displayed at the Discovery Center, located at 4444 Hadley Ave.

Hours are: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays; and 1-4 p.m. Sundays.
