Oakdale Gun Club, Halloween Leftovers, County Award: Today in Oakdale

Here are five items to take note of today in Oakdale.

Gun Club’s New Range

The Oakdale Gun Club will celebrate its new state of the art 100-yard range this weekend.

After nearly four months of construction, the range now features a “newly designed baffle system,” providing a high level of safety for shooters and the surrounding community, according to an event listing on Oakdale Patch.

A ribbon cutting is set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. There will also be vendors on hand with representatives from a variety of firearms, ammunition and accessory dealers and manufactures.

The Oakdale Gun Club is located at 10386 10th St. N. in Lake Elmo.

Halloween Leftovers

Halloween isn’t far off, and if you have candy left over from the festivities, All Family Dental will accept donated candy to be sent overseas to those serving in the military as part of Operation Gratitude.

“Thank you All Family Dental and thank you for donating your leftovers,” reads a note on the city’s Facebook page.

County Award

The Washington County Board was presented Sept. 17 with the county’s 27th consecutive Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Financial Officers Association for the county’s 2011 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
