Tartan Volleyball Plans Pack the Gym Night: Today in Oakdale

Here are five items to take note of today in Oakdale.

Tartan Volleyball

Tartan volleyball is hosting a “Pack the Gym Night” for its Tuesday, Sept. 24, game against North High.

The JV and B-Squad games start at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity game starts at 7 p.m.

Games will be held at Tartan High School, 828 Greenway Ave. North, in Oakdale.

During the game there will be prizes and drawings for fans.

Local Business Milestone

Oakwood Chiropractic Clinic is celebrating 35 years.

Dr. Doug Harden has been involved with the annual Summerfest and has been a member of the Oakdale Human Rights Commission.

Lake Elmo Deer Hunt

Lake Elmo, in conjunction with Washington County, will hold a deer hunt this fall to mitigate overpopulation in Lake Elmo.

The special hunt will take place on Nov. 9-10 at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve and Sunfish Lake Park. Washington County will continue the hunt on the following weekend.

Lake Elmo will conduct a lottery for residents wishing to participate. Eight hunters will be chosen at random.

Selected hunters will be required to attend a training session at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve Nordic Center beforehand. (A training date has yet to be released.)

Those interested must be hunter-safety certified, and present a valid deer hunting license and proof of address at Lake Elmo City Hall no later than Friday, Oct. 18.

School Board

The North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the Board Room at the District Education Center, 2520 E. 12th Ave., in North St. Paul.

Agenda items include a report on student achievement, the proposed 2013, payable 2014 tax levy, adoption of the 2013-2014 Site and District Improvement Plans, and the 2012-2013 Annual Report.
