Vandals Throw Paint on Memorial for Maplewood Officer

The St. Paul Police Department is looking for information into who defaced the memorial over the weekend.

Over the weekend someone tossed white paint on a memorial for Maplewood Sgt. Joe Bergeron.

Bergeron, 49, was killed in his squad car on May 1, 2010. He was investigating a carjacking at the time.

A memorial was placed near the intersection of Arlington Avenue East and Clarence Street in St. Paul, where Bergeron was killed.

St. Paul Police would like anyone with information about the vandalism to call 651-266-5740.
