Tartan BPA students compete at State Level

Tartan Business Professionals of America (BPA) students competed at the BPA State Conference March 6-8, 2014. Approximately 1200 students from around the state of Minnesota competed. Tartan continued its tradition of success with 16 of the 28 students competing earning a top-10 finish.

Earning 3rd place honors were Andrea Heinl in Presentation Management-Individual and Cheng Mor Vang in Network Administration Using Microsoft, Chia Xiong also placed in her event -  Fundamentals of Web Design.  These three students qualified to represent Tartan and the Minnesota State BPA as they compete in May at the National BPA Leadership Conference in Indianapolis, IN.

Tartan students also placing as Finalists in the top 10 in their events were:  Michael Xiong, Cheng Yang, Kong Thao, Qoua Thao, Isabelle Her, Davis Moua, Kang Yang, Cheethum Yang, Mai Lou Vang, Kendra Kong, Tomi Olateju, Surina Lee and Matt Duggan.

In addition, the Tartan BPA chapter received several special awards for their participation in their respective state projects including the Community Relief Award (Tomi Olateju and Surina Lee), State Member Recruiter of the Year (Cheng Mor Vang), and 18 students earned the Statesman Torch Award (for leadership and community involvement).  Andrea Heinl was also recognized as Region 2 President.
