Danielle Jelinek's Family Seeks to Raise Money for Larger Reward

A fundraiser will be held on Saturday, March 23.

The family of Danielle Jelinek is planning to hold a fundraiser in hopes of increasing a reward for information about her whereabouts.

Danielle Jelinek was reported missing on Dec. 9 after she was last seen with her friend, Aaron Schnagl, at his home in Chisago Lake Township. Schnagl has been named a person of interest in her case and has since been charged drug possession and drug sale.

Schnagl pleaded guilty to the unrelated drug charges, but he maintains that he does not know what happened to Danielle.

The Chisago County Sheriff's Office has partnered with Crime Stoppers of Minnesota to offer a $1,000 reward for "information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the disappearance of Danielle."

Cory Jelinek, Danielle's sister, told Oakdale Patch last month that the family would like to raise money to offer a larger reward. Since the Crime Stoppers reward is for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for her disappearance, Cory said the family's reward would be for the location of Danielle.

"The money will basically be for if you can tell us where she is and lead us to her," Cory said.

The fundraiser will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at The Dog House Bar & Grill, 2029 Woodlynn Avenue in Maplewood. There will be a silent auction, raffle, bake sale and music.

The cost is $20 for admission and all-you-can-drink beer or $10 for admission only. Children 12 years old and under are free.

Donations are currently accepted at Think Mutual Bank, 400 Robert Street in St. Paul, under The Jelinek Family Benefit Fund.

If anyone has questions or would like to donate to the silent auction, raffle or bake sale they can contact Cory at 651-815-7884.
