“Science, Ethics, and Race: Exploring the historical roots and contemporary relevance of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks ”

The Book Club of Silver Lake United Methodist Church will be hosting a discussion of  “Science, Ethics, and Race: Exploring the historical roots and contemporary relevance of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks ” with Amy Snow Landa on Wednesday June 29, 2010 at 7 pm.  The discussion will be at Silver Lake United Methodist Church, 5399 Geneva Ave N., Oakdale MN, 55128.

Ms. Landa is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota's Center for Bioethics and recently published  How Literary Journalism Can Inform Bioethics in the journal of The International Association for Literary Journalism Studies.  The Book Club meets monthly to discuss a wide variety of books and how they impact readers.

The discussion is open to all. A free will donation will be collected.
