Fall Cleaning? City of Oakdale Provides Recycling Ideas

Don't trash tangled Christmas lights or old cell phones, recycle them.

On the City of Oakdale is providing ways for residents to clean house and give back. In a recent post on Oakdale’s Facebook Page, city officials said that residents should recycle home goods during any fall cleaning.

Tangled or broken Christmas lights, American flags, cell phones, prescription eyeglasses and hearing aids can all be dropped off at Oakdale’s City Hall for free.

“Gently used toys, kids games, kids books, can go to The Toy Shop in North Saint Paul (same building as florist),” the City said on Facebook. “They provide needy families with toys, games, books. So when you are clearing out items your kids have outgrown or no longer use, there are other kid's who would love to have them!”

And don’t forget about the Environmental Center, which is now located in Woodbury. The center, which is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, accepts a wide variety of household and automotive items including brake fluid, fertilizers and gasoline.
