Get Out: Festivals, Explore Your Parks and More

Oakdale's weekend entertainment guide to parks, festivals and more.

A summer weekend has finally arrived and Oakdale Patch is here to make sure you get out of the house.



When: Friday, June 3, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Where:
Why Go: Enjoy all the classics from the 1950s through the 1980s.
Price: Free




When: Friday, June 3, from 6 p.m. to Saturday, June 3 at 8 a.m.
Where:
Why Go: Support the walkers benefiting the American Cancer Society while enjoying a live musical performance from School of Rock and a silent auction featuring a Harmon Killebrew-signed baseball.
Price: Free




When: Saturday, June 4, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Lake Elmo Park Reserve (1515 Keats Avenue N, Lake Elmo)
Why Go: Get outdoors and participate in the 5k/1k fun run-walk, wall climbing, kayak demonstrations, moonwalk, archery, obstacle courses, kite flying, geocaching and the evening campfire.
Price: Free, vehicle permits not required




When: Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Ordway Center for the Performing Arts (345 Washington Street, St. Paul), and surrounding parks
Why Go: Kids and their families will have a spectacular time seeing international puppetry, dance, music, acrobatics and more.
Price: All outdoor activities are free, shows inside the Ordway are $5




When: Saturday, June 4, at 8:55 p.m. to Sunday, June 5, at 5:30 a.m.
Where:  Various locations in the Twin Cities including Upper Landing Park in St. Paul, Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, Central Bridge at the East Bank Underpass, Walker Art Center Lawn, and Loring Park
Why Go: Spend the night mesmerized by art displays you’ll most likely never get the chance to see again, including the vision of a white horse galloping down the Mississippi River.
Price: Free
