Get Out: Learn About Falcons, Take a Kid Fishing

Oakdale's weekend entertainment guide to inventions and the great outdoors.

Thursday, the one day Oakdale Patch loves telling you what to do.




When: Friday, June 10 from 2 to 3 p.m.
Where:
Why Go: Learn about the famous inventors who have greatly changed our lives with their inventions.
Price: Free




When: Saturday, June 11 from 2 to 6 p.m.
Where:
Why Go: Spend the afternoon with a classic Rock Band, who won’t disappoint.
Price: Free




When: Saturday, June 11 at 7:15 p.m.
Where: Lake Elmo Park Reserve (1515 Keats Avenue N, Lake Elmo)
Why Go: This campfire program will explore all aspects of the American Kestrel falcon.
Price: The program is free as long as a $5 permit has been purchased for the vehicle.




When: Saturday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Maplewood Community Center (2100 White Bear Avenue N, Saint Paul)
Why Go: People of all ages will enjoy kicking off the summer with a variety of activities, including hiking, biking and other nature fun.
Price: Free




When: Friday, June 10 through Sunday, June 12
Where: Any fishing location in the state of Minnesota.
Why Go: Every Minnesotan should experience one of the state’s favorite hobbies at least once.
Price: Adults can fish without a license while accompanying a child 15 years or younger.
