Hennepin Theatre Trust Honors Tartan High School Play

The high school in Oakdale earned a SpotLight award for "Peter Pan."

The Hennepin Theatre Trust this week announced that Tartan High School’s production of Peter Pan has earned a SpotLight award.

Tartan students presented a musical version of Peter Pan in April.

Tartan, along with other honorees, will be recognized Monday, June 3, at the Orpheum Theatre. Now in its eighth year, SpotLight is Hennepin Theatre Trust’s primary educational initiative.

The event “recognizes high school musical theatre accomplishments by featuring dynamic student performances mixed with award presentations,” according to a release from the nonprofit, which owns the Orpheum, State, Pantages and New Century theaters.

Tickets for the event cost $15 and are on sale now in person at the State Theatre box office, by calling 1-800-982-2787 and on the Hennepin Theatre Trust website. Red-carpet packages, including programming and gift offers, are also available online.
