The Washington County Library's Oakdale Branch will host its final outdoor concert on Wednesday.
The concert is part of the library's "Listen @ the Library" series — a first for the Oakdale branch.
"It’s the first outdoor concert series like this that we’ve offered, at least in my memory (in 25 years)," said Joey Halbach, the community relations librarian.
So far, the has hosted Divas Through the Decades, Six Appeal and the George Mauer Trio. Medicin Show, which performs music from the vaudeville era, will close out the series on Wednesday.
Halbach said that attendance has ranged from 50 to 90 people at each performance, noting there might have been some competition with the city's summer concert series held in Walton Park every Wednesday night throughout the summer.
The Oakdale library branch was able to put on the concert series through funds provided by the Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Halbach said she is not sure if the concert series will continue next year.
Those planning to attend Wednesday's final concert are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The concert will be held on the library's lawn.
