When it comes to commute times, Oakdale residents are nearly more than a minute ahead of the national average of 25.2 minutes.
Oakdale residents spend an average of 23.6 minutes in the car on a one-way trip, according to data released by the U.S. Census Bureau.
To see how that compares with other communities in the area, check out the above interactive map produced by WNYC's John Keefe.
The map uses data from the 2006-2011 U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey five-year estimates.
The longest commute times in the Twin Cities area go to the far nothern suburban communities of East Bethel, Monticello and Montrose where workers spend more than a half hour in the car each way.
