Storm Cleanup Options for Oakdale

Oakdale is organizing debris collection efforts this week to clean up after the recent storms.

Oakdale residents with brush, branches and trees from the recent storms have several options for disposal:

Curbside Pickup

Crews will pick up brush, branches and trees placed at curbside. Here’s how to get them ready:

Brush/Branches

  • All piles should be stacked with the cut ends aligned and to the curb and no individual pile should exceed 5’ in height, 5’ in width, and 20’ in length.
  • Individual piles should be set side-by-side, not stacked.
  • Piles should be accessible by a log loader truck and must be off of paved driveway
  • The City Forester has the right to exclude piles that include trash or other unacceptable materials.
  • Make sure to have the bundles of yard waste at your curb line by 6 a.m. on Monday, July 1.

Trees:

Crews will collect tree debris placed at the boulevard by 6 a.m. on Monday, July 1, for properties affected by the storm. This service is for property owners clearing their property of tree debris after storm damage only—it is not for contractors doing work for property owners or for regular tree pruning. It is only for tree debris, not construction or other materials.

Here's how residents in the area can prepare downed trees for collection:

  • Move larger limbs, branches, and trunks to the boulevard area in front of your house. Crews will pick up and dispose of these items at no charge.
  • Property owners adjacent to tree debris placed on the boulevard are asked not to park vehicles near the debris, to help crews in the removal process. “No parking” signs may be posted and enforced to facilitate the cleanup operation.

Drop-off Sites:

These areas have been established for residents to drop off branches at no cost until Sunday, June 30;

  • Discovery Center, 4444 Hadley Avenue, parking lot by storage building
  • 36th Street cul-de-sac, west of Ideal, north of Imation;
  • Oakdale Public Works, 1900 Hadley Avenue (M-F, 7:30 am to 3 pm)

Residens with questions should contact Sue Barry, 651-730-2704.
