Oakdale to Host Fireworks Extravaganza
This year, rather than jointly hosting a display with Landfall, Oakdale is planning its own Fourth of July celebration in a new location.
The city of Oakdale will host a fireworks extravaganza July 4 at Walton Park.
The event will begin with a performance by the Rockin' Hollywoods from 7 to 10 p.m., in the Walton Park band shell, with fireworks scheduled at dusk.
This will be the first time in years that Oakdale and Landfall have not hosted a joint celebration at Tanner's Lake Park, according to city officials.

Walton Park was selected because of the availability of parking, easy access for police and fire personnel and a variety of good viewing areas.
