'Power of the Purse' Fundraiser Will Benefit Area Nonprofit

The "Power of the Purse" fundraiser will be at the Prom Center in Oakdale on Saturday.

Are you looking for a new purse and hoping to do some good in the process? 

The fifth annual "Power of the Purse" fundraiser will be held at the Prom Center in Oakdale and will benefit Stillwater-based FamilyMeans, a nonprofit that offers counseling and several other services, including financial education, mental health services, caregiver support services and enrichment programs.

The fundraiser's main speaker will be Colleen Lindstrom of the Colleen & Bradley show on FM radio station 107.1. Lindstrom will be "sharing her words of wisdom on 'Keeping her Cool' through life's ups and downs," according to FamilyMeans.

The event will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9. Tickets cost $35 per person or $280 for a table of eight. For tickets click here.
