Who is the City's 2012's Volunteer of the Year?

The city council recognized the 2012 Volunteer of the Year.

The Oakdale City Council recognized the 2012 Volunteer of the Year at its Jan. 8 city council meeting.

Marc Cove, 41, was presented with a certificate for his volunteerism. Cove is the senior vice president of Platinum Bank with more than 17 years of banking experience. In his spare time, he has been involved in numerous organizations that have benefited the community.

Here are just a small sampling of Cove's community involvement:

  • Co-Action Academic Resources
  • District 622 Communities Partnership
  • Winter Wonderland Committee
  • Oakdale Business Professional Association

Mayor Carmen Sarrack also noted that Cove was instrumental in the city becoming an official Yellow Ribon city.

"Oakdale is a wonderful place to live with so many people who do more work than I do," Cove said during his recognition. "This isn't a 'me' — it's a 'we.'"
