Family Fun, Live Music at Oakdale's Walton Park

The Zinghoppers performed for youngsters at Richard Walton Park in Oakdale on Wednesday, July 24.

The Zinghoppers were the first of two family-friendly bands that played Wednesday, July 24, at the band shell at Richard Walton Park in Oakdale.

For those who missed the performances, live music continues each Wednesday at the park.

Below is the remaining schedule for this year, per the city’s summer newsletter. All shows are from 7-8:30 p.m.

  • July 31 — 10:02 Band, inspirational rock and rap
  • Aug. 7 — The Blue Drifters, bluegrass,
  • Aug. 14 — Inside Out Band, variety rock
  • Aug. 21 — The Squires Band, polka, classic rock
  • Aug. 28 — Under the Covers, modern dance and rock

The events are sponsored by the Oakdale Recreation Department and Lake Elmo Bank.

The 7 Cat Swing Jazz Band also performed Wednesday, July 24.

The Oakdale Farmers Market is also held each Wednesday afternoon at the grassy area north of the City Hall parking lot.
