College Grads, Scholars from Oakdale

University of Minnesota

Ryan Conners graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in spring.

He was planning to take the bar exam the end of July.

He met his fiancée at school, and she too graduated from the U of M Law School.

They are getting married on Sept. 27.

They are both working at law firms in Minneapolis.

Conners graduated from Tartan High School in 2000 and also worked, and volunteered, at Oak Meadows.

They will live in Minneapolis for a few years and may move to Miami, where his fiancée, Aleida Ortega, is from.

Bethel University

The following Oakdale students graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul following the spring 2013 semester.

Lauren Berfeldt earned a BA in communication studies. She is the daughter of Doug and Roxanne Berfeldt.

William Christiansen earned a BA in computer science. He is the son of Chris and Theresa Christiansen.

Benjamin Leistikow earned a BA in business. He is the son of Ann Leistikow.

Jennifer Odegard earned a BS in biology. She is the daughter of David and Colleen Odegard.

Michael Roeller earned a BS in accounting and finance. He is the son of Tom and Carol Roeller.

Pakou Vang earned a BS in biology. She is the daughter of Angela Yang.

Kayla Wheeler earned a BA in Spanish education (grades K-12). She is the daughter of Bruce and Dawn Wheeler.

Dean’s List

The following students from Oakdale made the spring 2013 semester dean’s list at Bethel.

Danielle Freiermuth, a senior, the daughter of Mark and Melanie Freiermuth.

Christopher Jackson, a junior, the son of Dan and Judy Jackson.

Lisa Roeller, a junior, the daughter of Tom and Carol Roeller.

Michael Roeller, a senior, the son of Tom and Carol Roeller.

Kyle Von Schmidt-Pauli, a sophomore, the son of Keith and Laura von Schmidt-Pauli.

Rebecca Wesley, a senior, the daughter of David Wesley.

The dean’s list honors students who achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or better.

Drake University

Erica Skuta and Kara Anderson, both of Oakdale, made the spring 2013 semester dean’s list at Drake University. Both had grade point averages of 3.5 or better.

Northwestern College

Sara Nilges, daughter of Connie Nilges of Oakdale, was awarded with high honors (GPA of 3.90 or better) for the spring 2013 semester dean’s list at Northwestern College in St. Paul
