8 Ways to Increase Your Omega 3 Intake

8 Ways to Increase Your Omega 3 Intake

A recent article published online by US News listed 8 ways to increase your intake of foods rich in the healthy OMEGA fat…Omega-3.  These fatty acids are critical to proper cell function and have been shown to reduce the amount of inflammation in the body…which can only be a good thing.

1. Eating fish a few times a week will be a huge help since salmon and trout have over 1000 mg per serving.  Tuna can provide more than 150 mg/serving and fatty fish like herring and mackerel are great sources too.

2. Certain oils also do a body good including coconut oil; and it tastes just like coconut.  Flaxseed oil is  also a great source.

5. Get your fresh and sautéed spinach.

6. Winter squash is high in Omega-3.

7. Broccoli and cauliflower are on the list.

8.Nutritional supplements if you need to.

Bonus:  Grass fed beef and buffalo are also high in Omega-3 fatty acids for our meat eaters out there.

So, you can eat yourself sick or you can eat yourself healthy. We recommend making
smart dietary choices that contribute to your health. That’s what having a healthy lifestyle
is all about. Enjoy!
