After a quick teardown, and what seemed like an even quicker construction timetable, it seems appropriate the new store will be part of Kwik Trip.
Yet, the new gas and “everything” station for Oakdale has been a longtime the making. A former Amoco site has sat, decaying, on the corner of Highway 5 and Hadley for years.
The property had been vacant, and the Oakdale City Council this spring approved several measures that moved the redevelopment project forward.
“It’s good to see it turning around,” City Administrator Craig Waldron said at the time.
Now, Kwik Trip is inviting Oakdale fellow businesses, residents and those that paved the way for a new store here to a ribbon cutting set for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18.
It’s a bit of an early Christmas present. Kwik Trip pulls out all the stops for its openings, including specials on donuts, car washes, groceries and even a few give-away items.
And there’s always hot coffee.
