Construction Set for Third Caribou Coffee Site in Oakdale
Construction will begin this spring on the city's third Caribou Coffee location.
Construction on Oakdale's third Caribou Coffee location is scheduled for April of this year, according to a release.
United Properties announced Wednesday that it will develop the new location at the northeast corner of Highway 36 and Century Avenue. It will be approximately 1,800 square feet and include a drive-thru.
United Properties will also be handling a new Caribou in Anoka.

“We’re very excited to be working with Caribou Coffee on these two build-to-suit projects, and we look forward to future projects with them,” said Keith Ulstad, senior vice president of development at United Properties.
The Oakdale City Council in June unanimously approved the new location at a city council meeting. The coffee shop will replace an old Kwik Stop gas station lot that has been vacant for several years.

At the council meeting, neighboring business owners voiced their concerns due to the busy intersection and heavy traffic.
An architecture firm has been selected for the project as well as environmental consulting.
The city's second Caribou Coffee opened in Bergen Plaza at the end of October. This location—much like the upcoming location at Highway 36—has a drive-thru.
