Best Buy Brings in NHL Player to Celebrate Grand Re-Opening

Best Buy in Oakdale is inviting residents to check out its revamped store this weekend. 

Best Buy is hosting its grand re-opening on Saturday in Oakdale and three other Twin Cities locations, including Apple Valley, Minnetonka and Burnsville. The stores each have new features and designs which allow for a more interactive and accessible shopping experience, according to a press release. 

Best Buy’s new store concept offers a new way to shop for technology, allowing consumers to touch, feel, compare and play with technology. Located at the center of the store, Geek Squad Solution Central is the hub for getting a hands-on grasp on the technology that answers individual lifestyle and entertainment needs, including tablets, computing, gaming and digital imaging — across all brands and operating systems.

The store includes a Magnolia Design Center staffed with Magnolia System Designer experts to help customers experience the latest in home technology solutions and services.

In addition, Best Buy will also include Pacific Kitchen and Home, offering the world’s finest appliance brands. The massive selection features products ranging from entry-level to ultra luxury cook-tops, ranges, dishwashers, microwaves, refrigerators and more. Additional store offerings include Best Buy Mobile, electronics recycling, trade-in services and car and GPS installation services.

Durings its grand re-opening the store will be hosting several festivities, including the following: 

9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29

• Breakfast fare will be served (7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.)
• Band performance (8 a.m. to 9 a.m.)
• First 300 customers 18 or older will receive a drawstring gift bag with a Best Buy mystery gift card, Smartwater and Best Buy-branded USB charger
• 10 lucky winners will receive two tickets to the Minnesota Vikings vs. Tennessee Titans game on Oct. 7.
• Matt Cullen of the Minnesota Wild appearance and photographs starting at 12:30 p.m. at the Oakdale location. 

Note: For the celebrity appearance, wristbands will be distributed two hours prior to the start time and are available on a first-come, first-served basis — maximum 1 picture per person.
