New Bar/Restaurant Set to Open in Former Woody's Roadhouse

Cowboy Jack's is going in at the location, which has seen a steady rotation of restaurants over the years.

Renovations are underway at the former Woody’s Roadhouse in Woodbury, where crews are turning the space into a Cowboy Jack’s.

The renovation only began recently, said Jesi Mosny, marketing director for the After Midnight Group, the holding company for Cowboy Jack’s. An opening date hasn’t been set, she said.

Once complete, the space will have a “down-home feeling,” Mosny told Patch on Thursday. “That local place where everybody feels comfortable.”

The space—at 1690 Woodlane Drive—has seen several restaurant fail there; Woody’s lasted only four months before it closed.

Asked about that situation and how Cowboy Jack’s plans to succeed, Mosny pointed to a diverse customer demographic.

“We don't just cater to one type of person, but rather to everyone,” she said. “We work very hard to create a very inviting and comfortable environment, whether you have a business lunch, a birthday party, dinner with your family, drinks at our bar … We want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome. That includes providing great customer service.  We work incredibly hard to find your next favorite server or bartender. Our customers are our friends, our family. We take great pride in the lasting relationships we create.”

She said Cowboy Jack’s will be involved in the community.

“We don't want to just open a restaurant in Woodbury, we want to become a part of the community in Woodbury,” Monsy said. “From supporting high school sports programs, raising money for the Special Olympics, or supporting a local benefit for your neighbor. We are heavily involved with the communities in which we are apart of. “

Cowboy Jack’s will feature plenty of comfort food, Mosny said, noting in particular meatloaf and potpie.

“Things that make you feel warm and fuzzy,” she said.

Cowboy Jacks will also have nightly specials, a gluten-free menu, a brunch menu, kids menu and live music.

“We provide a fun lively environment and serve mouth-watering entrees, which include braised chicken, gourmet burgers, potpies, soups/salads, steaks, seafood and, of course, desserts,” Monsy said. “We are always working to improve our menu to fit our guests needs and take great pride in our food. We are proud of the fact that almost all of our food is made in house from scratch.”
