When Do They Open? A Black Friday Shopping Schedule

Here's a list of when various retailers in the area are opening on the day after Thanksgiving.

Shoppers are expected to number 152 million this Black Friday weekend, up from 138 million last year, according to a National Retail Federation survey.

Will you be one of them? If you want to get an early start right away on the Friday after Thanksgiving, you’ll have plenty of options.

Here are the opening times for some of the area retailers:

Midnight

  • Woodbury Lakes: Aeropostale, American Eagle, The Buckle, Express, Gap and PacSun
  • Mall of America: More than 100 stores will open at midnight including Disney Store, Macy’s and Old Navy.

4 a.m.

  • Woodbury Lakes: Banana Republic and The Children's Place
  • JCPenny

5 a.m.

  • Oakdale’s opens early in case you need a pre- (or post-) shopping jolt.

7 a.m.

  • Woodbury Lakes: All other stores

Giveaways and events

  • In front of Lakes Tavern and Grill on Friday, free doughnuts and hot cocoa (though you might not need it with the forecasted temperatures) will be given away to the first 1,000 shoppers (7-9 a.m.). And from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. random shoppers will be presented with free gift cards to Woodbury Lakes stores.
  • With Thanksgiving in the rear-view mirror, the weekend will also bring Santa Claus to the . He is set to appear from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. (St. Nick will also be at Woodbury Lakes from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.)
