CRACK SALAD (BROCCOLI & BACON)

For years friends and family have called this "Crack Salad". We call it this because it is the one salad we can't even get enough of. This salad just compels you to have more ... it's sweet, salty, creamy, crunchy, tangy, cheesy, nutty and bacony and what could be better than bacon? This is a combination of flavors that are sure to please the whole family.

CRACK SALAD (BROCCOLI & BACON)

1 head broccoli, cut in small pieces
1 large red onion, diced in small pieces
1 cup salted sunflower seeds
1 cup of real bacon bits
1 cup dried cranberries or golden raisins
1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

For sauce:

2 & 1/2 cups of Mayo, not Miracle Whip
1/2 cup vinegar (any flavor)
1/3 cup of sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste

Add all ingredients to large bowl. In another medium bowl, combine mayo, vinegar, sugar, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Whisk with wire whisk until completely blended and smooth and creamy. Pour over the broccoli mixture and mix well. Refrigerate until ready to serve. This only gets better as time goes on so the next day it will be even better!
