Job search got you down? Consider career alternatives.

If you are on the “bench”, on the “list”, or on the “chopping block”, then you may already be feeling the stressful effects of looking for work.   For many, the average time it takes to find the job you want these days is anywhere from 1-16 months.   That’s a long time if you haven’t planned for it.  

If you’re the person:

 ..who is tired of the endless job applications followed by impersonal rejection letters (or worst, no response at all);

Owning a small sideline business can be very empowering and rewarding.  I can’t help but appreciate how many businesses involving dog waste management, domestic engineering, and care giving have cropped up in the past five years.   Everyone has something to offer someone!   

Whether you’re in job search or not, consider a sideline business putting the skills you have to good use (office work, landscaping, project management, organization, scrapbooking, cleaning etc.).   Keep active and network.  With all the online tools, free training, and community meet-ups…your chances and opportunities for generating income are better than ever.
