Conference Dance Meet Tonight, Babysitting Class Offered

Five things you should know today, Thursday, Dec. 22

1. Today's weather will be mostly sunny with a high near 26, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

2. and North high schools’ dance teams are competing in their conference meet tonight at 6 p.m. at Hill-Murray High School.

3. sophomore girls basketball player Ta’Kendra Elbert is hoping to reach 1,000 career points at tonight’s home game against Johnson High School. She is currently the lead scorer for the metro area, and she's 22 points away from the milestone.

4. During winter break, District 622 is offering a babysitting class for students ages 11 to 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 28. Register online or by calling 651-748-7435.

5. On this day in 1978 John Wayne Gacy confessed to killing more than two dozen boys and young men and burying their bodies, according to History.com. Just yesterday news broke that one of the men thought to have been a victim of Gacy is alive and well in Oregon.
