More back-to-school events today, and Rep. Nora Slawik will be at the fair.

The weather should be partly sunny today with a high near 81, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
Rep. Nora Slawik, who represents Oakdale in the Minnesota House, will be out at the Minnesota State Fair today from 10 a.m. to noon. Find her at the Minnesota House of Representatives booth in the Education Building.
There are more back-to-school events planned today. has a kindergarten parent information meeting at 3:30 p.m., a fourth grade parent meeting at 5 p.m. and a fifth grade parent meeting at 4:30 or 5:30 p.m. The “Walk-About” event, where kids can find out who their teacher is and parents can sign up for fall conferences, takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. today. is also holding an open house today from 3 to 5 p.m.
For parents of kids that aren’t yet school age, District 622 Early Childhood Family Education is also holding an open house today from 6 to 7 p.m.
