Five Things You Should Know Today: June 1

It'll be breezy again today, but not quite as gusty as yesterday.

  1. It will be another windy day, but with gusts from 10 to 14 mph, you won’t be quite as likely to lose your hats, papers and small animals to its blasts as yesterday, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Skies should be sunny, with a high of 73, the forecast says.
  2. Potential charges could come today in the case of Washington County Commissioner and former Oakdale mayor Bill Pulkrabek, who on pending domestic assault charges . According to a statement from the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office sent out yesterday afternoon, a charging decision will be made as soon as possible, and Pulkrabek will be treated like anyone else accused of domestic assault.
  3. DON’T go to today looking for a farmers’ market. The calendar on our website incorrectly stated that the farmers’ market starts today. In fact, the city’s first farmers’ market will be from 3 to 7 p.m. June 15. We’re sorry for the error.
  4. Tartan’s baseball team was eliminated from the playoffs yesterday afternoon in a game against Cretin-Derham Hall at Midway Stadium.
