There's a breast cancer 3-day fundraiser at Lakes Tavern and Grill today.

  1. You might want to pack your umbrella today … and your hairbrush. There’s a 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service, with gusts of wind as high as 30 mph. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a high near 75, according to the forecast.
  2. Looking for an excuse to go out to eat tonight … , no less? Lakes Tavern & Grill is helping a local team walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure raise money by offering to donate 20 percent of any order made from 11 a.m. to close today. The only hitch is that you need to print out the coupon attached to the event announcement and present it to your server.
  3. The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office issued a press release yesterday saying a decision would come today on whether Washington County Commissioner Bill Pulkrabek would be charged with a felony in connection with a .
  4. OK, so normally we’d say driving across town for a lower gas price defeats the purpose, but if you happen to have a vehicle that takes E85 gas, it might be worth heading over to the Freedom Valu gas station at 1535 Beam Ave. in Maplewood between 4 and 6 p.m. today. As part of a promotion, the station will discount the gas by 85 cents. 
  5. On this date in 1924, the national Indian Citizenship Act was passed, according to the Minnesota Historical Society. Before that, American Indians were not considered citizens—preventing them from voting or holding office—but they were allowed to fight in wars with American troops.
