Five Things You Should Know Today: June 3

You can borrow a tandem bike at the Oakdale Discovery Center free of charge.

  1. It’ll feel like summer today with a high just shy of 90 degrees and partly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service forecast. There’s a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., the forecast says.
  2. With a sunny, rain-free weekend forecasted, it’s a great opportunity to try out the new bicycle built for two at the . Residents can check out the tandem bike—which was purchased with Statewide Health Improvement Program grant money—free of charge and ride it around the trails at the . Helmets are required.
  3. Although we’ve already mentioned it in our kids planner and weekend planner, just in case you still missed it, Explore Your Parks Day at Lake Elmo Park Reserve is Saturday. No permits will be required to get into the park and attractions like a climbing wall and a moonwalk will be available from noon to 3 p.m.
  4. Yesterday afternoon, the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office announced that possible charges against Bill Pulkrabek connected with allegations of domestic abuse are on hold while the Woodbury Police Department continues to investigate the incident. No word from the Woodbury P.D. on how long their supplemental investigation might take.
  5. Gas prices are up slightly from earlier in the week. According to minnesotagasprices.com, the cheapest gas in town is at , for $3.75 (regular). Regular gas at Oakdale’s other gas stations is $3.79, according to the website.
