Oakdale Police Blotter: Home Burglarized During Early Morning Hours

The resident reported a wallet containing more than $1,000 was stolen.

A residence in the 4800 block of Gershwin Avenue was reportedly burglarized in the early morning hours Wednesday, April 27, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

Someone reportedly entered the home between 2 and 7 a.m. and stole a wallet that contained a driver’s license and $1,412 in cash, the report says.

The resident reported that the doors were locked. There was no forced entry and nothing else was missing, according to the report.

 Following are other incidents that were reported on April 27:

  • A Gershwin Avenue resident reported receiving a letter that said he had won $985,950, but to get the money he had to send $1,200 first for insurance. The resident did not send any money, but wanted to report the scam.
  • A resident in the 3600 block of Gershwin Avenue reported that a neighbor’s dog was relieving itself in his yard and the neighbor was refusing to clean it up. Officers observed a few piles of the evidence in the complainant’s front yard.
  • A parent reported to police that she found a text message conversation on her 14-year-old son’s cell phone about purchasing marijuana from a 19-year-old fellow student at . There was no evidence of drugs in the suspect’s locker.
  • Police were called to the 7100 block of Upper 17th Street on a report of two boys riding an office chair down the street and throwing mail in the street. Police found the boys, watched them while they returned the mail and notified their parents.
  • A loss prevention employee at reported that on April 11 someone pumped $62 worth of gas and left without paying.
