Register to Pack Meals, Eat at Oakdale Restaurant and Help Students

Five things you should know today, Wednesday, April 11.

1. There’ll be patchy frost this morning, and then the weather will be sunny with a high near 52, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

2. You can now register to volunteer to pack meals as part of the event at May 22-24.

3. Tartan’s Business Professionals of America program is having a community night this evening at to raise money for 13 students to go to BPA Nationals in Chicago later this month. Present the ticket in the PDF section of this article between 4 and 9 p.m. tonight at the restaurant, and 10 percent of your meal cost will be donated toward Tartan’s BPA program.

5. Today is National Pet Day, a day to celebrate the joy pets bring to our lives. Estimates are that more than 16,000 pets die in shelters every day, according to the National Pet Day website.
