Reward for Information on Oakdale’s Danielle Jelinek Now at $25,000

The reward for information leading to the location of Danielle Jelinek has been increased to $25,000, her sister Cory said Wednesday.

Jelinek, 28, of Oakdale, was last seen on Dec. 8, 2012, in Chisago City. She was reported missing the next day. Those with information regarding her whereabouts are asked to call the Chisago County Sheriff’s Department at 651-257-4100.

A fundraiser was held in late March at the Dog House Bar & Grill in Maplewood, and a Facebook page called Danielle Mary Jelinek Search Team has also been created to help spread awareness about Jelinek’s disappearance.

Authorities in late December 2012 called off the search for Jelinek. One of her former boyfriends was named as a person of interest in the case, and has since pleaded guilty to drug possession.

The $25,000 reward is the latest step in efforts to find Jelinek.

“The money will basically be (awarded) if you can tell us where she is and lead us to her,” Cory told Patch earlier this year, when the family asked people do small acts of kindness in honor of Jelinek’s Feb. 1 birthday.

“We want to do a 'pay it forward' type of thing because that's basically who Danielle was,” Cory said. “Every person she came in contact with she would put a smile on their face. So we want to put a lot of smiles on people's faces.”
