- The murder trial of Dao Xiong started last week with jury selection. Xiong allegedly murdered a man he met on Craigslist while test-driving the car the man had advertised on the site. Xiong's defense attorney is arguing that he brandished a gun in an attempt to steal the car, however he accidentally shot the man when he did so.
- A tax law change made by the Minnesota Legislature during its special session could shift some of Oakdale’s property tax burden onto commercial and other non-homesteaded properties, but city council members said they want to prevent increasing taxes on businesses as much as possible.
- The CEO of the company that owns the is asking the City of Oakdale to reconsider supporting the construction of a new hotel at .
- A new shake shop in Bergen Plaza selling Herbalife products promises weight loss.
- On Thursday, Washington County Commissioner Bill Pulkrabek pleaded not guilty to a charge of fifth-degree assault before a Chisago County judge. Pulkrabek allegedly assaulted his girlfriend on Memorial Day at his Woodbury townhouse.
- An effort to help the families of military service members called Beyond the Yellow Ribbon is taking root in Oakdale.
- An Oakdale man allegedly worked with nine other people to steal mail for the purpose of getting money from victims’ bank accounts.
